Plot Summary: After swiping a loaf of bread to feed his family, Frenchman Jean Valjean (Richard Jordan) is put behind bars. After countless failed attempts, the poor man finally manages to escape from prison -- but not from the attentions of determined police officer Javert (Anthony Perkins).
